The legendary American Creek is an all time favorite….

This trip starts from the village of King Salmon, where you fly in by float plane to Hammersly Lake. The lake is in the alpine, with great hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and camping.  The American is famous for some of the largest rainbows in Alaska. Fast moving water with many granite boulders for fish to hide behind.

This creek is loaded with fish! As we make our way down river, it changes to a braided lowland river with deep big fish. There is an incredibly scenic canyon with some whitewater sections to keep it exciting!

At 40 river miles in 8 days, there will be plenty of time to fish, hike, and enjoy the river. We get picked up at the Colville Lake by float plane and fly back to King Salmon.
